The history of Jaguar is one of British innovation, design excellence and sporting success.
From 1935 when William Lyons of the Swallow Sidecar Company developed the SS Jaguar, through the post-war years and the launch of the XK120 in 1948, Jaguar has always been a byword for excellence and groundbreaking automotive development.
Success at the 1951 Le Mans with the C-Type was the beginning of the racing legend too. Further famous victories in the D-Type, XJS and XJR has ensured that this iconic brand is a motorsport legend.
It can be argued that the E-Type launched in 1961 is one of the defining cars of all time - and in 1992 the XJ220 became the world's fastest production car.
